The live table where your choices count
Live blackjack at VegasNow is dealt by Evolution dealers from a real shoe in a studio, and streamed to your browser as it happens. The aim has not changed: finish closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Number cards count their face value, picture cards count 10, and an ace counts 1 or 11, whichever suits the hand.
Unlike roulette or a game show, blackjack asks you to make a decision on every hand. Hit, stand, double or split: each choice changes the result, and making the right one consistently is what separates a long, steady session from a short one. Our lobby carries several blackjack variants, so there is a table for a quick hand, a crowded room or a different deck.
Play live blackjackHow a hand of live blackjack plays out
1. Take a seat and bet. A standard table has seven seats. When one is free, sit down and place your stake inside the betting countdown. If you want a side bet, it goes down at the same time.
2. The deal. Each seated player receives two cards face up, and the dealer takes an upcard. Your side bets, if you placed any, are settled on these first cards.
3. Your decision. When it is your turn, a short timer gives you time to hit, stand, double down or split a pair, depending on the hand. If time runs out, the table applies its default action, so stay focused while it is your turn.
4. The dealer plays. Once every seat has acted, the dealer reveals the rest of their hand and draws according to the table's fixed rules. Hands are then paid or collected.
Seated play is sociable and unhurried, but a full table means waiting for six other players to act. If you would rather keep things moving, the variants below are worth knowing.
Before your first hand: reading a VegasNow blackjack table
Two tables with the word blackjack in the name can play quite differently, so spend half a minute on the rules panel before you buy in. Nothing below is a figure we set; each one is printed on the table itself.
| Look for | Why it matters to you |
|---|---|
| Minimum and maximum stake | Decides how many hands your budget covers |
| Number of decks | Varies by variant, and Power Blackjack removes the 9s and 10s |
| Dealer drawing rules | Shapes which strategy chart applies |
| Side-bet paytables | Each side bet pays on its own scale |
| Decision timer | Shows how long you have before the default action kicks in |
| Bet Behind | Tells you whether you can join a full seven-seat table |
Watching one full round also shows you where the buttons sit and how quickly the dealer moves, which is far easier to learn with no money on the felt.
The blackjack tables you will find
Same goal, different formats. Pick the one that matches how you like to play.
Seven-seat tables
The traditional format. Seven players, one dealer, and each seated player makes their own decisions on their own hand.
Infinite Blackjack
No queue for a seat. An unlimited number of players share the same starting cards, then each makes their own decisions from there.
Power Blackjack
Eight decks with every 9 and 10 removed, though picture cards stay in. The changed deck means familiar hands play differently.
Bet Behind
Tables full? Bet Behind lets you back a seated player's hand. You win or lose with their result, without a seat of your own.
Which blackjack format suits you?
The variants share the same goal, but they suit different moods. This quick comparison helps you choose before you open the lobby.
| Format | Players | Best for | Extra side bets |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seven-seat table | Seven | A traditional, sociable game with your own hand | Perfect Pairs, 21+3 on most tables |
| Bet Behind | Any number, behind seated players | Joining a full table without waiting | Depends on the table |
| Infinite Blackjack | Unlimited | Playing straight away with your own decisions | Any Pair, Hot 3, Bust It |
| Power Blackjack | Per table | Something different: eight decks without 9s and 10s | Any Pair, Hot 3, Bust It |
If you are new to live blackjack, Infinite Blackjack is a comfortable place to start, because you never wait for a seat and you still make every decision yourself. If you enjoy the table atmosphere, a seven-seat game gives you the classic experience. Bet Behind is handy when your favourite table is full, though remember that the seated player makes the decisions on that hand, not you. Power Blackjack is best once you know standard strategy well, since its changed deck alters the right play on some hands.
Side bets explained
Most live blackjack tables offer two optional side bets on top of your main hand, and Infinite and Power Blackjack add three more. Side bets are settled on the opening cards, separately from the main hand, so you can win a side bet and still lose the hand, or the other way round.
| Side bet | Where you find it | What it pays on |
|---|---|---|
| Perfect Pairs | Most tables | Your first two cards form a pair: mixed, coloured or perfect |
| 21+3 | Most tables | Your first two cards plus the dealer's upcard make a poker hand |
| Any Pair | Infinite and Power Blackjack | Your first two cards are a pair |
| Hot 3 | Infinite and Power Blackjack | Your first two cards and the dealer's upcard |
| Bust It | Infinite and Power Blackjack | The dealer busts |
The paytable for each side bet is shown on the table itself. Side bets add excitement, but they are separate wagers with their own odds, and they can double the cost of a hand without you noticing. Keep them small relative to your main stake. If you have an active bonus, remember that the main bet and any side bets together must stay within our A$8 maximum.
Doubling, splitting and the VegasNow A$8 bonus cap
A double or a split puts a second stake on the hand equal to your first. Open with A$5 and double on 11, and A$10 is now riding on that hand. With a bonus active, that is more than our A$8 maximum bet.
The simple fix is to size the opening bet with the double in mind. A$4 leaves room for a double or a split and still totals A$8. If you also like a side bet, a A$3 main bet plus A$1 on Perfect Pairs comes to A$4, and doubling takes the hand to A$7. If you also back a neighbour's seat through Bet Behind, the safest reading is to count that stake in the same total.
Without an active bonus the A$8 cap does not apply, and the table's own limits are the only ceiling.
Good decisions: basic strategy
Blackjack is unusual among casino games because your decisions change your long-run results. Basic strategy is the mathematically best action for every combination of your hand and the dealer's upcard, and it is the single most useful thing a live blackjack player can learn. A strategy chart for the specific rules of your table is easy to find, and learning a few core rules covers most hands.
- Always split a pair of aces.
- Never split a pair of 10-value cards.
- Stand on hard 17 or more.
- Hit hard 12 to 16 when the dealer shows a high card, and stand when the dealer shows a low one.
- Double on 11 against most dealer upcards.
These are general rules for standard blackjack. Power Blackjack changes the deck by removing 9s and 10s, so the best play on some hands differs, and the table's rules panel is worth reading before you start. Deck counts also vary by variant, which is another reason to check each table rather than assume.
Blackjack with a bonus: the real numbers
Blackjack counts 10% toward bonus wagering under our general bonus terms. Every A$100 you bet on blackjack adds A$10 toward your target. Slots count 100% (with some exceptions) and roulette 25%.
A worked example: a A$100 first deposit earns a 150% match, giving a A$150 bonus. At 40× that is A$6,000 of qualifying wagering, to be finished within 7 days. On blackjack alone, that means A$60,000 in stakes. At our A$8 maximum bet with an active bonus, that is more than seven thousand hands, which is not realistic within the 7-day window.
| Where you wager | Counts | Stakes for A$6,000 of wagering | Hands at A$8 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slots | 100% | A$6,000 | Not applicable |
| Roulette | 25% | A$24,000 | 3,000 spins |
| Blackjack | 10% | A$60,000 | Over 7,000 hands |
The practical answer for most blackjack players is either to clear a bonus on slots before moving to the tables, or to decline the bonus when you deposit and play blackjack with cash. One active bonus is allowed at a time. The full package is laid out on our welcome bonus page.
Why playing well does not shorten VegasNow bonus wagering
Contribution is calculated on the stake, not on the result. A A$4 hand adds A$0.40 to your target whether you win it, lose it, or play it perfectly. Good decisions protect your balance; they do not move the target any faster.
Here is a fourth-deposit example. You deposit A$320 with VEGAS4 and receive a 25% match, an A$80 bonus. At 40× the target is A$3,200, and at 10% that takes A$32,000 of blackjack stakes. At A$4 a hand that is 8,000 hands, more than 1,100 a day across the 7 days.
Loyalty points tell a similar story. A$32,000 at one point per A$250 earns 128 points. Clearing the same A$3,200 on pokies, at one point per A$25, also earns 128. The points match; the staking is ten times larger. The levels and Loyalty Store rates are on our VIP and loyalty page.
Winnings from the offer are capped at A$5,000, and that A$320 deposit must be wagered three times, A$960, before related funds can be withdrawn.
Loyalty points and blackjack promotions
Blackjack earns 1 loyalty point for every A$250 wagered with real money, the same rate as baccarat. A session with A$2,500 in total stakes earns 10 points, and A$50,000 over a month earns 200. At the Golden Glimmer level, 200 points exchange for a A$5 bonus in the Loyalty Store, and better exchange rates come with higher levels. Bonuses from exchanged points carry 40× wagering. See our VIP and loyalty page for the levels and the VIP Lounge.
Our weekly calendar also includes Diamond Club Blackjack Cashback, a promotion aimed specifically at blackjack players. Its conditions are shown on the offer in your account. The full list is on our weekly promotions page.
Choosing a table and staying in control
Every table shows its minimum and maximum stake before you join. Choose one where the minimum lets you play enough hands to enjoy the session. With a A$200 session budget at A$5 a hand, you have 40 hands before side bets. Add a A$1 side bet each hand and that drops to around 33.
- Check the table limits and the rules panel before your first hand.
- Keep side bets small next to your main stake.
- Use Bet Behind or Infinite Blackjack when seated tables are full.
- Set a deposit limit in your account and stop at your planned point.
Deposit limits and self-exclusion are available in your VegasNow account, and the responsible gambling page explains how to use them. For free, confidential support, Gambling Help Online is on 1800 858 858.
Common live blackjack mistakes at VegasNow
- Opening at the full A$8 with a bonus running. It leaves no room to double or split within the cap.
- Reading Diamond Club Blackjack Cashback as cash. If it is credited as a bonus, our general bonus terms apply: 40×, 7 days, the A$8 cap and the 10% rate. Check the offer on the weekly promotions page first.
- Making a second deposit mid-session expecting VEGAS2. Only one bonus runs at a time, so the next offer waits until the current one is finished or has expired.
- Deciding in the last second on a weak signal. If the timer runs out, the table plays its default action for you.
- Requesting a withdrawal straight after a deposit. The deposit needs three times turnover first.
- Raising the stake to win back a bad run. A losing streak is a reason to pause, not to bet bigger.
Live blackjack in the browser
Blackjack tables open in Safari or Chrome with no download needed. The decision buttons sit under the stream, sized for a thumb, and you can add VegasNow to your Home Screen for one-tap access. Because each decision runs on a timer, a stable connection matters more at blackjack than at most games. The mobile page has the setup steps.

Live blackjack questions
Answers on seats, variants, side bets and bonuses.
How many players can sit at a live blackjack table?
Standard tables seat seven. Infinite Blackjack has no seat limit, and Bet Behind lets you back a seated player's hand when a table is full.
What is different about Power Blackjack?
It uses eight decks with all 9s and 10s removed, while picture cards stay in. It also offers the Any Pair, Hot 3 and Bust It side bets.
Which side bets are available?
Most tables offer Perfect Pairs and 21+3. Infinite and Power Blackjack add Any Pair, Hot 3 and Bust It. Paytables are shown on each table.
Does blackjack count toward my bonus wagering?
Yes, at 10%. A A$150 bonus at 40× needs A$6,000 of wagering, which is A$60,000 in blackjack stakes. The A$8 maximum bet applies while the bonus is active.
How many loyalty points does blackjack earn?
One point per A$250 wagered with real money. At the Golden Glimmer level, 200 points exchange for a A$5 bonus.
How many decks are used?
It depends on the variant. Power Blackjack uses eight decks without 9s and 10s; other tables show their deck count in the rules panel.
What is Bet Behind at VegasNow?
Bet Behind is a stake on a hand that someone else is playing in one of the seven seats. You do not choose to hit, stand, double or split; the seated player does, and your bet wins or loses with their hand. It lets you join a full table, and with a bonus active the safest reading is to include it in your A$8 total.
Can I double down or split at live blackjack while a bonus is active?
Yes, but each one adds a second stake equal to your opening bet, so the hand can pass the A$8 maximum quickly. An opening bet of A$4 or less keeps a double or split inside the cap. Side bets and Bet Behind stakes add to the total, so count them before you confirm the hand.
Is there a VegasNow blackjack app?
There is no app to download from the App Store or Google Play. Live blackjack runs in Safari or Chrome on your phone, and you can add VegasNow to your Home Screen so it opens with one tap. Be wary of any APK that claims to be ours. The mobile page walks through the setup.
