What makes a casino legitimate

“Legit” means different things to different people, so it helps to break it into parts you can actually test. A legitimate casino has a named company you can identify, a licence recorded with a regulator, published terms that set out the rules for bonuses, deposits and withdrawals, a verification process that confirms who is playing, and games supplied by established studios. None of these on its own settles the question, but together they show whether a site has put itself on the record.

This page goes through each of those parts for VegasNow. Where something is published, we point you to it. Where something depends on your account, such as the conditions of an individual promotion, we say so, because those details are shown on the offer itself. The aim is that you finish this page able to check every claim without taking our word for it.

The licence record

VegasNow is operated by Just Entertainment B.V. (Curaçao company 160603) under Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/164/0246. The authority publishes a certificate page for the licence, and you can open it directly: Curaçao Gaming Authority certificate page. The useful thing to look for there is agreement between three details: the licence number, the company name and the status.

If you reached VegasNow through a link you do not recognise, compare the details in the site footer with the certificate. A real licence for one website says nothing about a lookalike on a different address, so the match is what matters. Our licence is issued in Curaçao rather than by an Australian state or territory regulator, so the Curaçao Gaming Authority is the body that oversees us. More detail is on our licensing page.

Do it yourself

How to check us in four steps

Do this once before your first deposit and again if you arrive through an unfamiliar link.

  1. Read the footer

Note the licence number and company name shown at the bottom of the VegasNow site.

  2. Open the certificate

Go to the Curaçao Gaming Authority certificate page for licence OGL/2024/164/0246.

  3. Match the details

Confirm the company and licence number agree with what the footer shows.

  4. Read the terms

Skim the general terms and the bonus terms before you opt in to any offer.

Reading the VegasNow certificate line by line

The certificate holds more than our footer can, and each line answers a separate question. Open the Curaçao Gaming Authority validator for our licence and work down the page in this order.

  1. Licence number. It should read OGL/2024/164/0246. Compare the slashes and every digit, because a number that is one character out belongs to a different licence.
  2. Licensee. The holder named should be Just Entertainment B.V. A copycat can lift our logo and wording, but it cannot rewrite our certificate.
  3. Status and start date. You are looking for an Active status and a licence date of 13 August 2024. A record showing anything other than active is a reason to stop and ask questions.
  4. Approved domains. The certificate lists the web addresses covered by the licence. Hold the address in your browser bar up against that list. This is the check lookalike sites fail most often, since they can copy a footer but have no way to add their own address to the regulator's record.

A seal image on a page proves little, since anyone can paste one. Let the regulator's own record decide.

Checking a VegasNow bonus against the terms: a worked example

A genuine offer can be rebuilt from the published rules with nothing more than a calculator. Take a A$1,000 first deposit, the largest that still adds bonus at the first stage:

  • The stage matches 150%, so A$1,500 in bonus funds arrives, exactly the stage cap. Anything deposited above A$1,000 adds nothing more.
  • Wagering is 40 times the bonus: A$1,500 × 40 = A$60,000 of qualifying bets, to be finished within seven days.
  • With an A$8 ceiling on each bet, that target takes at least 7,500 bets (A$60,000 ÷ A$8).
  • On roulette, which counts 25%, the same target would need A$240,000 of stakes.
  • The 200 free spins unlock once the A$1,000 deposit has been played through once, and whatever they win is capped at A$300 and carries its own 40× requirement.

A page showing another multiplier, window or bet ceiling under our name is not quoting our offer. The full four-stage breakdown sits on our welcome bonus page.

Verification

Why we ask who you are

Signing up takes your account details, country, currency and date of birth. Verification is a separate step that can be requested later, most often before a first withdrawal. It confirms that the person cashing out is the adult who opened the account and that the payment method belongs to them.

A casino that pays out without any identity check is not doing you a favour; it is leaving accounts open to misuse. The practical advice is simple: complete verification soon after you register, so it is already done when you want to withdraw.

  • Have your ID and your payment details to hand.
  • Use a payment method in your own name.
  • Keep your account details accurate and current.
  • Ask support if a document request is unclear.

How payments are handled

Our Australian payment table lists card deposits from A$30 to A$10,000, MiFinity from A$30 to A$4,000, Cashtocode from A$25 to A$400, and ten cryptocurrencies with low minimums and no listed maximum. We cover our own deposit costs; your payment provider may add its own fee. The method list is on our payments page.

Withdrawals are requested from My Account. Inpay, PayAnyBank and wire run from A$300 to A$6,000 per request, MiFinity from A$30 to A$4,000, and each cryptocurrency has its own range, for example 20 to 4,000 USDT. Funds return to the deposit method where that applies, larger sums may be paid in instalments, and provider withdrawal fees are borne by you. Timing depends on the method and on verification, so we do not quote a fixed number of hours or days. The full process is on our withdrawals page.

One rule surprises people more than any other: deposits must be wagered three times before related funds can be withdrawn. If you deposit A$100 and want to withdraw without playing, expect the request to be refused or to attract a processing fee. Knowing that before you deposit avoids a frustrating conversation later.

Games from established studios

The games in our lobby come from studios that publish their own specifications, among them Pragmatic Play, Novomatic, BGaming, Belatra and Evolution. That matters for legitimacy because the game maths is set by the studio, not tuned by the casino on the night. When a studio publishes an RTP, such as 96.50% for Gates of Olympus or 95.3% for Elvis Frog in Vegas, you can read it on the studio's own page.

RTP is a long-run average across a very large number of rounds. It is not a promise about any single session, and short runs can land well above or below it. Live games such as Lightning Roulette and Crazy Time are run by Evolution in its own studios, with rules explained on Evolution's game pages. Browse the full range on our games page.

What a licence does not do

Being clear about limits is part of being trustworthy. A licence shows that a regulator has a company on its books and can hold it to account. It does not insure your balance, it does not promise any particular result, and it does not replace reading the terms. Bonus caps, wagering requirements and withdrawal limits still apply to every account, licensed or not.

If you ever need to raise a question about a payment, a bonus or a document request, write to support@vegasnow.com with your username and the details of the transaction. A clear message with dates and amounts gets the fastest answer, and our support page covers the common cases.

What the Curaçao licence means if you play from Australia

Because our licence is issued in Curaçao, the rules that bind us are the ones set by the Curaçao Gaming Authority, together with the terms we publish. No Australian state or territory regulator licenses or supervises VegasNow, and a few practical points follow from that.

  • Where a problem goes first. Write to [email protected] with your username, dates and amounts. The licence record shows which regulator stands behind us.
  • BetStop does not cover this account. BetStop is the National Self-Exclusion Register for Australian-licensed wagering providers. VegasNow is not one of them, so a BetStop registration on its own will not close your account here. Use the self-exclusion tool inside your VegasNow account as well; our responsible gambling page shows where to find it.

Spotting a copy of our site

Well-known casino brands attract imitators, and the simplest protection is knowing what the real thing looks like. Our licence statement always names Just Entertainment B.V., Curaçao company 160603, and licence OGL/2024/164/0246. Our published customer care address is support@vegasnow.com, and our Instagram account is @vegasnowcasino. A site that uses the VegasNow name but shows a different company, a different licence number or a different contact address is not one we run.

Be cautious, too, with offers that do not match ours. We do not run a no-deposit bonus, so a site or message promising free VegasNow cash with no deposit and a secret code is a reason to stop and check. The same applies to anyone asking you to send a deposit to a personal account or to a payment method in someone else's name; our terms require payment methods in the account holder's own name, and we never ask you to pay a third party.

Finally, we never ask for your password by email or message. If you are unsure whether a request is genuine, do not reply to it. Sign in through the site as usual and contact customer care directly with the details, so you are talking to us rather than to whoever sent the message.

Some pages borrow our name, then pass you to another casino at the first click. These signs expose them even when the footer is a good copy.

What you noticeWhat it tells you
A play button opens a site with another brand's name or logoYou have been redirected. Our buttons open our own sign-up and sign-in screens.
A welcome deal that is not four deposits worth up to A$8,000 plus 500 free spinsNot our package, which matches 150%, 100%, 50% and 25% across the four stages.
A code for the first deposit, or a special code for a bigger matchOur first stage needs no code. The only stage codes are VEGAS2, VEGAS3 and VEGAS4.
An App Store, Google Play or APK downloadWe have no verified store app. VegasNow runs in your mobile browser and can sit on your Home Screen, as our mobile page explains.
PayID, POLi or Neosurf offered as deposit optionsNone of them appears in our Australian deposit table.

If you notice the switch only after paying, the money sits with the brand that received it, and we cannot see that transaction. Take it up with that operator, then reach us by typing our address yourself.

Before you deposit

Pre-deposit checklist

Ten things to confirm before you fund a VegasNow account.

  • The licence number in the footer reads OGL/2024/164/0246 and matches the certificate page.
  • The company named is Just Entertainment B.V., Curaçao company 160603.
  • You are 18 or older and the account is in your own name.
  • Your payment method is in your name and its minimum suits you (A$30 for card or MiFinity).
  • You know the withdrawal minimum for the method you plan to use, such as A$300 for bank lanes.
  • You understand that each deposit needs 3× turnover before related funds can be withdrawn.
  • If you take a bonus: 40× wagering, seven days, A$8 maximum bet and the cash-out caps are acceptable to you.
  • You know which games count towards wagering, and that baccarat counts 0%.
  • You have a deposit limit set in your account.
  • You have saved the support address, support@vegasnow.com, in case you need it.

If every line checks out, you have done more homework than most players ever do. The step-by-step sign-up is on our registration page.

Play within your limits

A legitimate casino is still a place where you can lose money. Treat any deposit as the cost of entertainment, set your limits before you start, and step away if it stops being fun. Gambling Help Online is free and confidential on 1800 858 858, any time, and at gamblinghelponline.org.au. Account limits, cooling-off and self-exclusion are explained on our safer play page.

Legitimacy questions

Direct answers to the questions players ask before depositing.

Is VegasNow licensed?

Yes. VegasNow is operated by Just Entertainment B.V. (Curaçao company 160603) under Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/164/0246, which you can check on the authority's certificate page.

Is the licence Australian?

No. It is issued by the Curaçao Gaming Authority, which is the regulator that oversees VegasNow.

Why do I have to verify my identity?

To confirm the account belongs to the adult who opened it and that payment methods are in their name. It is normally required before the first withdrawal.

Why was my withdrawal refused after a deposit?

Our terms require each deposit to be wagered three times before related funds can be withdrawn. Without that turnover, a request can be refused or a processing fee may apply.

Can I play without a bonus?

Yes. Bonuses are optional and can be declined, in which case the wagering, maximum bet and cash-out caps that come with a bonus do not apply.

Are the games fair?

Games come from studios such as Pragmatic Play, Novomatic, BGaming and Evolution, which publish their own game rules and RTP figures. RTP is a long-run average, not a session guarantee.

Is VegasNow a scam?

No. VegasNow is run by Just Entertainment B.V., Curaçao company 160603, under licence OGL/2024/164/0246, which the regulator's validator lists as Active with a start date of 13 August 2024. Our bonus rules, payment limits and withdrawal conditions are all published before you deposit. The real risk comes from pages that borrow our name, so confirm the address you are on appears among the approved domains on the certificate.

Does BetStop cover my VegasNow account?

No. BetStop is the National Self-Exclusion Register for wagering providers licensed in Australia, and VegasNow holds a Curaçao licence instead. To block your account with us, use the self-exclusion option in your VegasNow account, and email [email protected] if you need help setting it up. Registering with BetStop as well covers the Australian-licensed sites.
